[Ontbirds]Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrow - Amherst Island

Must be a good day for sparrows today. I also found a NELSON'S SHARP-TAILED SPARROW on the north side of the ponds on the KFN property on Amherst Island. Eleven species of sparrows were observed including a LINCOLN'S SPARROW and two LAPLAND LONGSPURS. Other birds noted were eight species

There were many good sightings on Amherst Island and at the Amherstview Lagoons today. At the east end KFN property there was 1 NELSON'S SHARP-TAILED SPARROW in the sedge area by the gravel bar. Also around that area was 1 SNOW BUNTING, 3 LAPLAND LONGSPURS, 4 AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS, 1

Spent the morning on Amherst Island and located 3 NELSON'S SHARP-TAILED SPARROWS by the ponds on the KFN property. Twelve species of shorebirds were observed which were being harassed by both a MERLIN and a PEREGRINE FALCON. In the Owl Woods was 1 LONG-EARED OWL. Good Birding Bruce Ripley
