We are considering buying some land that currently has horses on it. WE do not vaccinate for blackleg . Can anyone tell me how long we should wait before putting our sheep on the land or if we have to vaccinate for it? They will also be using the barn that the horses used. Thanks Nancy

I have had no problems with blackleg and my sheep were with horses. They also were not vaccinated. I don't remember a case of Blackleg in Horses... The only problem I had with horses was in killing a lamb and chasing the sheep. However my 20 year old gelding is with the sheep all the time.

I do not know what blackleg is so I would say I have not had a problem with it. My sheep have been able to run with the hores for the apx 7 years we have had them. I only do cdt on the sheep I keep since we have horses, which can get anything, and dogs. We also now have a baby pig that runs with
