This is an article that appeared in a recent local publication. While it doesn't directly pertain to sheep, it does fairly graphically describe a groundswell of interest in wholesome, nutritious food that is locally produced. I found it rather stunning, particularly since my small acreage is located on the outskirts of Portland (where the useless 6.1 acres and modest home across the street from me can be purchased for a mere $550,000), and I am aiming to enter this market.

The reason for me posting this article is to inspire you, the blackbelly breeder, to start respecting what you have, what you have the potential of contributing to the local food chain, and contemplating the reasons why we keep thinking we should only charge $40 for the best tasting lamb on the planet.
