Sounds like it could be they need more selenium. With all your rain the natural selenium would be depleated from the forage. Try putting out a mineral block and see if that helps. Also with the deep mud the small gland between the toes in the front of the hoof could be blocked. Hose off the foot and squeeze the gland and see if any waxy blob comes out. A squirt of hoof and heel is good to put on their feet also.It acts as a disinfectant.
