Hi everyone ! How you all ? :@)
Righty, little bit of a problem with fontconfig
(http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/svn/general/fontconfig.html)
It compiles happily, but during the make it whinges like this :
if
tar -zxvf docbook-to-man.tar.gz
cd docbook-to-man/cmd
echo `date` ../../make.time
make 21 | tee ../../make.buildog
echo `date` ../../make-time
make install \
21 | tee ../../make-install.buildlog
mv /usr/local/bin/docbook-to-man /usr/bin
cd ../..
if you do the make - all sorts of weird
before you begin, rename the docbook2html to docbook2html.---
mv /usr/bin/docbook2html /usr/bin/docbook2html.--
once all done, rename it back again !
mv /usr/bin/docbook2html.--- /usr/bin/docbook2html

I had this problem where during the make for the glxgears the make would
complain about a missing X11/Xlib.h
there was another file referenced in X11
and yet another one in GL that it could'nt find.
Trouble was, I did not know where exactly it was trying to find these
files.
Fixed ! I had to

I'm on my first {B}LFS install, and so far it's been great, but I can't
get my head round why I can't get any sound working.
It looked like the easiest thing to try would be to install mpg123 and the
relevant bits of ALSA, but after doing this I got only:

A previous post directed me to 7.4.4 in the LFS book, and I created
/etc/modprobe.conf with the suggested install command. No change.
Then I read the earlier bits in 7.4.2, which appear to suggest that with

Not sure why your .mp3 file is named *.mpg, but that doesn't
matter (though .mpg and .mpeg are typically used for a/v files).

Hi.
I repost this message, not because I hope I'll get more answers, but
because I want to find out what is going on by myself. But I need help :
what can I do to investigate by myself, what tools do I have to use, how
can I start something very clear to follow the process threw each steps.
Of course, from a BLFS builders point of view - actually - simply
renaming the file temporarily IS the easier choice, clearly.
We're not all config.h editors BTW !

Didn't we already do this once before? Weren't you the guy that
insulted one of the LFS developers for his use of Mutt and then
stormed off?

I didn't see one thing that was useful. I did see a bunch
of disorganized, thoughtless drivel.

The DocBook-utils BLFS instructions DO say that which is a required
runtime dependency - it even provides a link to the which installation
