In the task manager - windows key + R, and type in taskmgr and hit enter, on
the second page, which is the processes page, you'll find a whole lot of
processes running, but if you know the executable name of an application,
and can find it there, there are columns for CPU usage, memory usage
Your messages are being received. Don't worry. It takes Yahoo a while to
get around to messages.

hello, i am brand new to this type of group and to the whole subject of
blind computing. when i started searching for computers for the blind i was
surprised because I thought I would find a lot of great voice activated
computers that would make it easy... all i see so far are some clunky screen
it really isn't voice controlled. It is speech output grin. There are a few
and it really is a personal and financial choice. There is jaws by fs or
freedom scientific or window eyes by gw micro. These are the two big one.
There is also system access to go and NVDA.

Since most blind people have fingers, voice input isn't really necessary.
Voice input is more for people who have paralysis or issues with
dexterity.
As far as screen readers being clunky, this is true for some situations,
but notthe for the one you mentioned, having to navigate through all

Actually if used correctly they can be quite helpful. When I use jfw at
least you can go by headings or tab through links. You can also go to edit
fields or just do a text search. There are many ways to speed up internet
browsing.

Sorry, but as far as I can tell, the google toolbar keyword thing is
different than the keyword feature in FireFox. In google toolbar, it
seems to work more like the instant browsing on google, as you type words
into your address bar, it offers web sites that it thinks you want to go

Try out FireFox, it's not too bad to get started. It took a long time
for me to start using it because I thought there would be this steep
learning curve, but there isn't. Webvisum, to solve CAPTCHAs is what
really sold me. And then I found the keyword thing.
IE 9 may have
F6 is broken (Apple broke it in 10.2).
It's annoying but iTunes is still usable.
The tricky part is to get out of the iTunes store but there's a workaround.
To search the iTunes store:
- Select the iTunes store from the sources list.
