I tried to do this with my Pac Mate, and couldn't get it to work either. What I had to do was plug in a Bluetooth Audio Adapter to the Pac Mate, then pair that with my Bluetooth headset. The audio adapter plugs into the phone jack. I'm using Jabra equipment.
