This probably isn't a quick fix, but I use Emacspeak and orgmode, which is a pretty comprehensive notetaking system. Emacs has a notoriously steep learning curve, however. Emacspeak is best on Mac OS or Linux. Plain text is the way to go, I think. Patrick "Jacob Kruger" writes: There

There are a few forms of note-gathering software that might help in that they will at least let you categorise notes? For example, to just repeatedly type in short strings, I use an add-on for NVDA, but, for other notes, I use something called flash note - for programming code snippets:
