What do you mean duplication of programming? I want to have two sets hooked up to the service, but I want each set to be able to access different channels at the same time and not have to be on the same one, at all times. Our second remote eats batteries like crazy, thus deprogramming itself,

[BlindHandyMan] Drilling slotted holes

Hi, How do I go about drilling slotted holes? I am talking about those used to allow wood panels to expand and contract. It needs to be narrow enough that the screw head won't go through it but wide enough to let a piece slide back and forth a little. I don't think a router would work

If you are drilling a hole, that's all you can do with it. If you start to put sideways pressure on a drill bit it will snap. A router is about the best way to go. You can get straight cutting bits that go down to about 1/8 and that's probably smaller than the screw you will use. Beyond

Ralph, Drill the hole at one end of the prospective slot, get a rat tail file just a bit smaller than the hole and grind away. You might try drilling and pushing sideways on the board, but you'll end up breaking bits. You can get router bits pretty small but when they're that small, assuming
