I'm not much use with a fly swatter anymore.
Anybody have any tricks for eliminating the nasty critters?

We Don't have DVR, but the exact problem that you described is what's
happening, with our second remote.
What is LNBF, in regards to DirecTv?
Thanks.

What do you mean duplication of programming?
I want to have two sets hooked up to the service, but I want each set to be
able to access different channels at the same time and not have to be on the
same one, at all times.
Our second remote eats batteries like crazy, thus deprogramming itself,
No Scott,
This is even faster than that; totally ridiculous, in my opinion!
We don't have this problem with our primary remote, in the living room, but
this constant interruption of service is for the birds!

Well, I am expecting a pretty good snow storm in the next 24-48 hours, how

Now, I normally put plastic over the outside of my windows in the winter to
help with air leaks and stuff, yes, my windows are...crap...
Okay, my siding was replaced this past summer with vinyl, had steel

Why not get shrink wrap plastic and do it from the inside.

hi maybe try using long strips of foam to squeeze in the j channel and trapping
the plastic in there.

Hi,
How do I go about drilling slotted holes? I am talking about those used to
allow wood panels to expand and contract. It needs to be narrow enough that
the screw head won't go through it but wide enough to let a piece slide back
and forth a little.
I don't think a router would work
If you are drilling a hole, that's all you can do with it. If you start to put
sideways pressure on a drill bit it will snap.
A router is about the best way to go. You can get straight cutting bits that
go down to about 1/8 and that's probably smaller than the screw you will use.

Hey, that would probably work pretty well. THanks for the idea. I
guess I was so focused on nothing being on that siding, but the wire
held by some small hooks won't hurt a thing.

Router bits come as small as one eigth in diameter in straight cutting.

Ralph,
Drill the hole at one end of the prospective slot, get a rat tail file just a
bit
smaller than the hole and grind away.
You might try drilling and pushing sideways on the board, but you'll end up
breaking bits. You can get router bits pretty small but when they're
that small, assuming
Thanks all for your input. I don't have many holes and am famously hard on
drill and router bits so think I'll try the file.

Michael,
Every year I go around to all my windows with the kind of caulking that can
be removed.
I do this on the inside, though. It goes on clear and smells pretty strong

Now that we have all established that we hate flies, here's a couple

sounds like a good one to try. Another more smelly one is to get a
