My 1987 325, stock with 182K miles, is more difficult to start in the warm
summer months. It always starts, but takes more cranking after it sits
overnight.
Any ideas,
TIA,
Jim

Hi all,
Sorry to waste bandwidth this far off topic, but I recently acquired a
1980 CJ-7 (basically the polar opposite of my M5). I like the simple,
don't worry about it nature of it, but the brakes suck. It has front
disks, rear drums and no power assist. I have inspected eveything and
it all works as it should, but the pedal effort is waaaay high, even for
non-powered brakes. I suspect the PO but on cheap, crappy pads. Can
anyone recommend a pad for this thing? Bite, feel ,and noise are
concerns, but I don't see frequent highs speed stops (and the heat
resisitance required) mattering much. Similarly, dust is trivial as
well.

Most of the hard core jeep guys just convert to power brakes, but it
seems like there should be a pad that will work well without the expense
and complications of a conversion kit.

Regards,
Paul Craven

Try a set of Hawk HP-Plus... considering how sharp they grab, having
non-power brakes should not be a problem.

There is clearly oil in my coolant (sludge when draining the radiator). But
oil analysis (Blackstone) finds no coolant in my oil. So what gives?

Head gasket failure (or cracked head) between an oil gallery and coolant
gallery?
