Until that oil catches fire. Oil dripping onto exhaust is a major cause of
car fires. The oil cakes up and holds the exhaust heat. Once it reaches
800 deg F or so, look out.

By comparison, gasoline evaporates and cools. If you by luck do not ignite
the vapor cloud, the fuel dissipates.

What is Kendahl?

Every time I mention replacing a seal or fixing a leak on one of my E30s, Brett A
always reminds me of the rust preventative properties of a properly leaking motor as
well.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my antenna question, which was actually
intended to confirm my sanity more than anything else. My sanity was, in
fact, confirmed, despite Brad's best efforts to make me think that I had
gone bonkers. :^)

Today I returned the used antenna and told them that when it was marked
"Perfect.... New Mast", that I would only agree that it did, indeed,
include a "perfect new mast". They credited me the purchase price towards
a new antenna. I actually need two antennas (2 cars), as far as I can
tell, but I'll order the second one from somewhere cheaper.

Does anyone have a line on a used straight set of Kosei K1 wheels for the
e30. I am looking for a set 15X7, four bolt with the e30 offset.

Steve,

I don't lube the pins (2 per caliper) with the conical compression sprags
on my calipers. But on the rear brakes with the sliding calipers, I do lube
the pins that the floating caliper moves on. I just use a Permatex(?) high
temp grease. It is a dark green color and comes in small squeeze tubes.

Noah,

I tried an aftermarket exhaust on my E34 525iTa. I bought it from Tri-Flow
in Phoenix. It was a horrible experience as the exhaust sound is much more
noticeable in a wagon than in a sedan. I reverted back to stock exhaust in
about a day. So I would not recommend Tri-Flow. I also used a Dinan exhaust
on an E34 540. I always thought it was too quiet, but there were theoretical
HP/torque gains. Perhaps the sound would be better in a wagon.

Hi All,

Happy Holidays!!!

I have an E39 540iT and I was looking for the 'build sheet' for this car. I
had the back seat out but did not see it. Any thoughts as to where it could
be lurking?

TIA

I happen to have a client that has a 1996 525i sedan. It is the Olympic
Edition and by the VIN it is actually a 1996 model. It is the only one that
I have ever seen. I didn't think that BMW made a 96' model either.
