Looking for the part number (actually a diagram) of the washer fluid 
tank/bottle for a '04 M3. Tried to use realoem.com but could not find 
the critter.

On my car I noticed there was a re-enforced hole in the right-side 
front, lower plastic "cover" which lines up with a clip-nut on the 
bottom of the washer fluid tank - but no screw.

Trying to determine two things: 1) if a screw is supposed to be in 
there; and 2) the appropriate size/part number of the screw.

I put up for auction on eBay CD ROM discs I didn't need, as I only wanted 
the CD #1 & #2.  Navteg (formerly NavTech) sent me and eBay an email 
claiming I was violating the software licensing agreement by selling the 
other 6 CD ROMs I don't need. EBay removed my auctions.   Their pricing 
policy is one CD ROM for $129, the set of 8 for $199.  Two CD ROMS would 
cost more than the set of 8!

Am I wrong trying to sell these others?

Interesting.  I've bought the region I needed from a guy in the Roundel
Classifieds who bought all eight and sold off his "extras".  (btw- used it
in my aftermarket philips/vdo unit in my chevy truck).

I've thought the Navteq pricing is stupid and an obvious arbitrage.  I
didn't know it was a violation of the "agreement".

"wrong" depends on if you think the agreement is binding and if they
prosecute.

I'm amazed they spent the time cruising ebay.  Too bad I don't live out
east, I'd buy your other regions ;-)

Those CDs aren't really your property to sell.

They were provided to you for use with the car in which the set was 
installed. You buy a license to use the data, not own it for resale.

Type 188 is what all 6 cylinder cars (except M5/M6) and E30 M3 used from
1983 to 1999.  3.0 V8 used it also.

Internal parts are generally interchangeable between all of those, with some
exceptions.

MCoupe diff is a direct bolt in to any Z3 6cyl, E23, E24, E28 and E30.
It'll also fit 318ti and Z3 4 cylinder with an axle change.

Hey all,

The sunroof liner (visible from inside the car) does
not stay in place once the sunroof is closed.  If I
pull away from a stop quickly, it slides back,
revealing the upper (steel) panel of the sunroof. 
Also, if I tilt the sunroof for venting, the panel
does not slide back as the sunroof tilts.  Is
something simply unclipped/unfastened, or is it
something more complicated (i.e. costly) to fix?

least new o-rings that isolate the direct-ignition
stalks and spark plugs from the oil in the valve cover
area.

Anyone had this problem?

All of my ignitors check-out OK.
Did the oil actually affect your cars running and if
so, what was the affect that you noticed?

I am planning on ordering a new valve cover gasket set
and having my injectors blueprinted/cleaned while I do
the job, but I'm curious if there's anything else I
should order/do while I'm replacing this valve cover
gasket and o-rings (if any).

holes filled nearly to the top, never noticed it until I changed the plugs.
Could have been a week or a year that it was like that.  I've heard it can
cause a coil to fail and that in turn may cause a DME to fail, urban legend?

I can't think of anything else in there you may want to change besides just
checking the wear on the cams if you remove the valve cover..

As it happens, my 97 M3 got an Insp-II at Bill Arnold's yesterday, and we
found all my plugs had a little oil on them.  Not enough to worry about
until the next inspection.

Yes, the oil can wick up to the coil, short it and kill the DME.

The valve cover gasket on my 95 M3 started to seep at about 75K miles.
 I replaced it just because I don't like fluids to leak out of my
engines.

It's pretty easy to replace it, not much more difficult than changing
the sparkplugs.

Change the valve cover gaskets as soon as you can.

The oil will degrade the spark plug connectors and short the coils to
ground.  At that point, any one of those shorts will take out the
corresponding final stage unit of the DME.
