root (hd0, TAB (check partition table)
parttype (hd0,0) 0x83 (example is first partion on ext3)

This is Works as Designed, because partition IDs are used to hide/unhide
partitions. Every hide operation performed while booting into one
installation is expected to be unhidden when booting into another. I suppose
there should be a FAQ item
