Don't know why this hasn't been fixed.
$ grub-install /dev/some_device
grub-install: -e: command not found
grub-install: -e: command not found
/dev/some_device does not have any corresponding BIOS drive.
A patch is attached for GRUB 0.5.96.1.

There is an alternative of using the up/down arrows, and that is to
use the C-n/C-p keys; as in Emacs.

I suggest making this clearer by replacing such as Linux or GNU
Mach in chapter 1.1 with such as Linux, GNU Mach, DOS, Windows95,
Windows98, Windows ME, Windows NT, OS/2.
First of all, windows is not a kernel that section describes what GRUB
does. Not what systems GRUB supports. Maybe
I'm guessing that something changed in ls's output so that that sed
expression won't work on the output of ls anymore.
I tried it with the latest coreutils, and couldn't see anything that
might trigger a bug. And if the 'ls -l' output for symbolic links
would change, then it would actually
