Hopefully the last follow up to this -- it turns out that when the maillist
was switched over to Google's system, the archiver broke. This should have
been fixed as of 25th March. (see
https://www.mail-archive.com/casper@lists.berkeley.edu/maillist.html)

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a good way to rescue missing emails,
other than just sending them again. Feel free to do so if you thing the
information in the mail should be archived.
