A Louisiana Waterthrush was singing on Leonard Road in Caroline this morning
too! A Winter Wren was also singing occasionally.

While recording BROWN CREEPER in Shindagan Hollow this morning, I
heard my first of year HERMIT THRUSH singing under the balsams. This
was south, out of the basin.
However, while recording the two LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSHES singing on
Leonard Road, I found a pair of BLUE-HEADED VIREOS doing
A VERY welcome sight at 9:30 a.m.. Our 1st CHIPPING SPARROW was hopping along
the edge of the back walk either gleaning bugs or looking for the little
birdseed I usually have sprinkled there for chippers song sparrows.
Bluebirds are trying hard to chase away the abominable male house sparrows
Maybe it is a bit early to call it a nest, as they were just putting the
first sticks down BUT! I am optimistic J
