I had my FOY Black-throated Green Warbler singing in the yard this
morning, on a par with the earliest arrival I've had, though looks
like they're usually about a week later, at least in my yard.

We were very much surprised this AM to band a Yellow Palm Warbler (YPWA). For
this
location, YPWA is more of a late fall bird and rare in spring.
We also netted a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker that we banded several years ago.
It's a
male and in its seventh year!
Of note this spring, many Song
As I was reviewing the first arrivals list which Dave Nutter provided a link
to, I realized no one has reported a house wren yet. I had one arrive the
morning of April 16. He has been singing around his territory since then.

I was out back early this morning and heard my Warbling Vireo singing. They
nest down by the creek every year . Every year I get many White Crown Sparrows
at my feeders when they are passing through, but none so far this year which is
very alarming and disappointing to me. I've seen them in
Yesterday afternoon, I added #100 species to my yard list: pair of WOOD DUCKs
(M and F) puttering along on Gulf Creek behind our property. In 7 yrs of yard
listing, never saw them before, though I've had Mallards and occasionally Great
Blue Herons stop by in the creek.
Then before I finished
After 16 years of having my feeders out on my back deck I just had my
first woodpeckers. I have a Downey that keeps returning and a

Short of advocating for reforestation in your area, your best bet is probably
to reserve one feeder just for them (and birds
Had some interesting sightings yesterday on my walk around Beebe Lake

surprised to see a WILD TURKEY walking up the hillside. The bird was
equally surprised by my presence and kept scurrying away as I continued

Livia and I kept vigil at Myers Point this morning from about 8:15 until
after 10 as the winds shifted and the cold front came through. We didn't
experience a major fallout by a long shot, but a few cool birds were
around. Three LESSER and one GREATER YELLOWLEGS were on the point when we

Hi all,
I've been downtown all day today and have been watching the skies every once in
a while. There is currently a group of 48 CHIMNEY SWIFTS flying around over
Collegetown. Earlier in the day there was a movement of about 30 COMMON LOONS
flying towards the lake over the period of an hour
Upland sandpiper continues. Only 1 this week. Sitting on a wire close for my
SFO group for 10+ minutes. We also heard and saw a GRASSHOPPER SPARROW in
the same area that Chris Wood found it last week. The bird flew up to a post
for a brief time so that we could get brief view. The bird
Yellow throated warbler was seen and photographed at a bird feeder of one of
