Hi all, sorry for the terse email, I was walking with a friend and didn't
have much time.
This is presumably the same owl that seen last week sitting in the same
spot in the same tree (on the Severinghaus trail). If you go o look for it,
don't stay too long. The bird flushed after multiple visits

The bird seemed very relaxed and sleepy while we were there (SFO group). I
went back after class after grabbing my camera from the car and the bird was
gone. When I emailed our local group (Broome County--bluewing) Anne Clark
emailed me back saying that she'd heard my owl repeatedly when she
11 AM 4/24/12, Two ospreys on nesting platform near Hog Hole. They were there
for the whole hour of our walk. One brought some nesting material to the
platform.

FISH CROWS continue in Cortland, 2 CHIPPING SPARROWS were under my feeders
this morning, and PINE
SISKINS are nesting at just about every state forest in CNY this year.
It's the best siskin nesting year in CNY
since 2004. FWIW: Siskins have nesting at Summerhill and other state
As walking on Wilson Trail clockwise. I had just passed the wooden bird blind
when I spotted a RUFFED GROUSE on the trail right by the gate that goes to
outdoor eating area for employees. It was walking along the trail heading away
from me towards the gate.

At Myers Point today were many PIPITS, TREE, BARN, ROUGH-WINGED, and 2 BANK
SWALLOWS, one RED-THROATED LOON, AND 2 COMMON LOONS. That was between 8:00
and 8:40 A.M.
