Driving back from Rochester, after visiting Pine Grosbeaks Friday, I was able to scan a little at dusk from Cayuga Lake SP. The Tundra Swans are starting to build in numbers with over 100 just south of the park. I watched a feeding line made up of 60 Red-breasted Mergansers and 50 Bonaparte's Gulls. I didn't see any rarer Gulls mixed in unfortunately. Many more waterfowl were too distant to ID, in the fading light, but one flyby flock looked like it could be Black Scoters.
