12-30-'10 mid-afternoon: Went to Geneva. Sun was at the wrong angle.

MANY (unknown varieties) SWANS, geese, ducks on & along the OPEN CHANNEL NORTH
OF THE RR BRIDGE at Cayuga.

1 BALD EAGLE, adult ... Mud Lock.

200+ RB GULLS, 2 GBB GULLS, 3 BLACK DUCKS at Van Cleef Lake in Seneca Falls.

Daughter, Becky had seen numerous Common Mergs in those areas on Tues. as well
as on the Mill pond in Union Springs. Also had a male Hooded Merganser amidst
the many Canadas & Red Heads.

>From Geneva back to Union Springs we saw Canadas flying constantly. Where DO
>they get enough food????

One of you fly fishermen go out & lasso that Eider for me. How maddening to
know it twice was just on the other side of the marina from me & I missed it.
And Dave .... you & the others who saw it or took pix ... I'm so glad for you
but that doesn't put a check mark on my list!

I love the enthusiasm in the posts for the CBC. Success, all!!
