2 very large rafts of snow geese on the Cayuga lake viewed from the state park and lower lake road. VERY conservative estimate is 200k but the heat shimmer and water makes it hard to see. Get Outlook for iOS -- Cayugabirds-L List Info:

I saw my first Cayuga Lake Osprey perched on the third nest west of the MNWR entrance from 2:05-3pm. this afternoon. It flew off and returned with building material several times within the hour I was there. I checked about 80 Osprey nests without any other sightings. The snow geese are still

Not that it would be unlikely to see osprey now, I saw Turkey Vultures sitting in a nest there earlier today. I thought they were osprey too until I got closer. Maybe there are osprey! But those TUVUs tricked me. -- Alyssa Johnson Environmental Educator 315.365.3588 Montezuma Audubon Center PO

Lots of snow geese on lower Lake Road by the restaurant as described. A bunch were so close that they were walking around on the shore. No telling if they will still be there tomorrow Period Lanie On Sat, Mar 20, 2021 at 7:37 PM Barbara Bauer Sadovnic wrote: > Did the snow geese Alyssa saw

Got ‘em! Thanks. They were so close to West shore this time, that several came ashore & were eating grass on a small lawn south of Wolffy’s. Fun to see them so close by. They (est. 40,000 by Suan Y. ) attracted quite a large # of hairless primate observers, too. & a bit of a traffic jam.

That's awesome. After a few days of quiet skies, the steady stream of the snows and some mixed flocks was amazing! On Sat, Mar 20, 2021, 8:20 PM Donna Lee Scott wrote: > Got ‘em! Thanks. > > They were so close to West shore this time, that several came ashore & > were eating grass on a small

No guarantee on seeing Snow geese tomorrow, but worth a try. They are often here today and gone tomorrow. I looked for Sandhill cranes in sev. Montezuma Complex places & didn’t see any. But others reported a few of them, days ago, so good to look around. I did see lots of Canadas & lots of
