Matt Medler and I just heard a Woodcock taking off in a field on Triphammer Road, just past the Mall. (skydance sound - not peenting). I heard the same thing here on Whitted Road several evenings ago. I see from eBird that they have lingered in Tompkins County as late as the end of November.
