[cayugabirds-l] No Scissor-tailed Flycatcher
I birded around the Pharsalia cemetery this morning with no further sightings of the flycatcher. Maybe it will show up and be active again in the afternoon. I also briefly went up into the Balsam Swamp state forest area nearby and had an adult goshawk circling overhead, plus many Mourning Warblers. [cayugabirds-l] How well can you hear?
?Listening to bird songs is challenging. Quality of the sound depends on the gadgets you have and your ears. So is the playback which people use it rampantly these days. I was on a trip to Fort Drum, where one person did not have patience enough. He played playbacks several times unnecessarily. I was annoyed at times. But this is a good exercise to see how well is your hearing and also your speaker. http://www.npr.org/sections/therecord/2015/06/02/411473508/how-well-can-you-hear-audio-quality Cheers Meena Meena Haribal Ithaca NY 14850 42.429007,-76.47111 http://www.haribal.org/ http://meenaharibal.blogspot.com/ Ithaca area moths: https://plus.google.com/118047473426099383469/posts Dragonfly book sample pages: http://www.haribal.org/dragonflies/samplebook.pdf -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/cayugabirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/Cayugabirds 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
