Hello from the Montezuma Audubon Center,
We had a birder from Philly stop in this morning and report that she saw a
Black-backed Woodpecker at Lake Bluffs Campground near Sodus. She said it was
in a snag near site 55. She felt pretty confident with the ID, and specified
that it was a female.
There is a snow goose at the Refuge in the Visitor Center Pool. Now why
couldn't it have been here for the Muckrace?

The newly-scoured fields and roadsides along the east end of Mt Pleasant Rd may
be an eyesore until something grows, but they offered some good bird sightings
this morning.
A couple of dozen American Pipits were feeding there, as were huge numbers of
