At 5:20 pm Hile School Wetlands in wet mists, there was a beautiful Blue-headed
Vireo among willows etc along road on se side. First hard to see way back in
greyness and then came out and turned and sat and turned. Gorgeous
Then at 7:11 pm an adult White-crowned Sparrow visited my feeder,
While I’ve seen field sparrows on Lansing Station Road in nearby woods edges &
fields, I too have never had one in the yard that I was able to see.
I have seen 1 field sparrow in various parts of my yard several times in the
last 3 weeks.

I have never seen a field sparrow at our feeders on N Cayuga, Ithaca, in
the forty or so years I've had them, but Wednesday what I thought was
going to be a chipping sparrow turned out to be a FISP when I got the
binoculars on it. Despite the prominent pink bill I was hesitant to ID
it because

I had my sunroom window open so I could photograph the birds. Who should show

He came within ten feet of me on the rock wall. He’s never done that before.

FOY House Wren arrived in our yard moments ago while a Carolina Wren,
Red-bellied Woodpecker and a Northern Flicker were calling from the
adjacent wood lot. The FOY BO that I reported a couple days ago finally
returned to the oriole feeder.

And now I’m waiting for all of these wonderful migrants to move north to
Auburn. It’s exciting to read what everyone is getting, but frustrating they
aren’t up here. Thanks for your report.

3 Wood Thrushes, a Catbird and Grosbeak are all FOY for me here on my property.
Still have Purple Finches, and up to 9 White-throated Sparrows - morn than I
had all winter. Seems yesterday’s weather system pushed, or pulled a number of
migrants.

Hi everyone,
I finally saw Purple Martins at Cayuga Bird Club's Purple Martin house at
Stewart Park this morning! I was first alerted by their calls and saw two
pairs landing on the house. One male entered an apartment on the north
side, and later perched in front of the opening for some time. I

I’ve put out hummingbird nectar & a hanging tray of grape jelly with an orange

Yesterday while jogging before the storm, I flushed a small bird in the
woods which looked to have the orange crown of an ovenbird, but couldn't be
sure without binoculars. It was near another small bird on the ground
pumping its tail, which I assumed was a Louisiana waterthrush. This morning
