We saw our first of the season just a couple of
days ago, so they must have hit Brooktondale recently!

I've been seeing one regularly at the corner of
Ellis Hollow and Game Farm for a few weeks, and
it is a different bird than the one I've seen
several times by the airport. Haven't seen one at
Mt. Pleasant, so don't know about that one!

Blue and Black-throated Green Warblers, both
kinglets, and a knock-down, bill-clasping fight involving 3 Louisiana
Waterthrushes. Must have been prime real estate.

At our feeders today--FOY. Also a Baltimore Oriole coming to grape
jelly and oranges and a Ruby-throated Hummingbird, both showed up
yesterday, and the Rose-breasted Grosbeak gang has grown to 3 males
and the first female today.

Suitable for beginners, but even seasoned birders will find their

Anyone been to the Savannah Mucklands or by Cayuga Lake State Park
the last couple of days? Are there lots of Tundra Swans and/or Snow
Geese? Looking back on my notes, the next two weeks seem to be the
peak time for them here, but with the odd weather, who knows?

Hi Folks,
We're heading to the New Orleans area for a few days in mid-April,
and I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions of the best places to go
birding there? We will probably do a boat trip into a cypress swamps
and another to the more coastal areas--unless I hear otherwise here.

Following in Larry Hymes' footsteps, we have 11 Pine Siskins with the
Goldfinches at our feeders in Brooktondale this morning!
I'm excited--haven't seen them all winter.

Would the Endangered Species Act make this illegal?
