I have had 16-21 siskins at my feeders for a couple weeks now. It's pretty
cool watching them. They move so quickly, that it is hard to get an
accurate count. Good luck with the bears!

I haven’t seen them yet today, but for the last 3 days a flock of Pine Siskins
has come to my feeders, where the only fare is black oil sunflower seeds. The
Siskins have only been present for a few minutes at a time, so I have to be

I just counted 14 Pine Siskins at our feeders. This is not usual for our
location, but perhaps the continuing cool weather is keeping them here, or
they'v'e just decided they like it. We do have a lot of nyger seed socks -
the fly to the top of one and work their way down head first to the seed.
Checking for new arrivals, but currently ONLY 8 Pine Siskins. Don't know if
it's the habitat (Hemlocks mostly) or the elevation, or the abundance of
niger seed - 3 socks full, but they are chasing the occasional goldfinch
away.

It's been a long winter without Pine Siskins but there are 3 at the feeders
this morning. Also a small flock of Cedar Waxwings on a crabapple. Several
seem to be paired, feeding and moving together. One Tree Sparrow still
here.

Greetings birders:
Right now there are a few siskins feeding in cedar trees on Green St. adjacent
to Agway.
The timing and conditions look good for hearing great egret night flight calls
tonight. My past experience suggests that 8:30-10PM is the window to hear
egrets, presumably individuals
Late yesterday afternoon I counted 5 Pine Siskins at our feeders, and this
morning there are at least 8. We got about 5 inches of very wet snow here
on South Rd in Caroline.
This late snow could bring some interesting things into feeders so keep an
eye out!

I haven't had a Pine Siskin at my feeders (at least when I was watching) all

Susan, Ann, and I just returned from the Summer Hill area. There were
several PINE SISKINS at feeders along Lake Como Rd - #1182. This is
just south of Nick's house feeders.
On our way home we detoured east of Elm St Ext to watch a flock of

With Bob's notice, we immediately set out. We found two PINE SISKINS just
where it was noted, though we thought the address was #1184 down at the
edge of the lake. We also located the 3 LAPLAND LONGSPURS on the Elm Street

Thanks Bob!
While out with one of the dogs a few minutes ago, I had a flock of
some 25 Pine Siskins fly over, calling, and heading SE. Snyder Hill
area.
Also my first White-throated Sparrows of the fall, singing in the
shrubs.
