You had better luck than me, Steve. I did go up for about an hour at 12:30 and
did not have a single bird flying — not even a local Red-tail. Small flock of
SNOW BUNTINGS and HORNED LARKS at the east end of Mt. Pleasant Rd. and a RAVEN
calling somewhere to the west. Overly optimistic I guess!
A single female redpoll has been hanging around our feeders
(Trumansburg, right in the village). She's comfortable on the
ground/snow. Doesn't flee until I get very close, and then doesn't fly
very far. I can't tell if she's sassy and unafraid, or if she's ill.
Been around for a week or two.
Has anyone seen the Peregrines lately? I went during lunch and did not see any.

Hi all,
On the way to work I came upon several species of noisy birds.
A pair of Carolina Wrens were goofing around, while the male was trying to sing
different songs to show off his vocabulary.
Then I came up on a big group of birds which consisted of about 60 to 70 Am.
Robins, about 30
There were several in my neighbor's tree this morning. And I had my first four
Red-winged blackbirds under my feeder yesterday. I'm on Gravel Rd. in Tyre.

OK folks-- hoping to crowd-source the answer to this question. Of course i
will include the requisite warning against birding WHILE driving... But
maybe someone has an answer they are passionate about. I'm thinking a
hybrid hybrid would have great appeal. Or a self-driving Google car!

While I agree with Pete, some of us... me, at this stage of life and my
now-deceased and dear friend Caissa Wilmer... have physical limitations
but don't want to give up the joy of birding.
About vehicles... I used to have a Subaru Legacy which had good-sized

Could we possibly direct the rest of these responses directly to Marc, and
not to the list?
Thanks,
