The Cayuga Bird Club will continue to lead weekend Beginner Bird Walks at
Sapsucker Woods at 8:30 on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Please see
Reuben has just let me know that the residents at 178 Barden Road in Candor
have been seeing what they now believe is an immature YELLOW-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERON around their farm for the past few days. It seems to show up in
the afternoon and often stays until dusk, around the lawn and near a shed
This morning at my feeders I saw two of the smallest birds I have ever
seen. They were scarcely larger than the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds that I
have.
They were not hummingbirds but looked like miniature wrens, about half the
size of the Carolina Wrens that frequent the feeders.
