Reuben has just let me know that the residents at 178 Barden Road in Candor have been seeing what they now believe is an immature YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON around their farm for the past few days. It seems to show up in the afternoon and often stays until dusk, around the lawn and near a shed

This morning at my feeders I saw two of the smallest birds I have ever seen. They were scarcely larger than the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds that I have. They were not hummingbirds but looked like miniature wrens, about half the size of the Carolina Wrens that frequent the feeders. My question is ,
