Chaffee Road. In addition to the birds, we spotted one beaver.

My wife, Janet, and I traveled to Montezuma this morning. It was a good trip.
We saw our largest number of Snow geese at the Mucklands. Here are the

It was a great morning. We’ve never seen so many yellow rumps in one place and
the wildflowers were nice also - white trillium, wild geraniums, foam flower,
blood root in seed, solomon’s seal - both, and more.

Nice sunny walk this morning. On the lake we say Canada geese, Gulls sp.,
Common mergansers, Bufflehead, and Redheads.

A yellow crowned night heron was seen about 7:00 pm at Groton Avenue Park in
Freeville. I would appreciate knowing how common they are in this area?

We have a European Goldfinch at our feeder in Dryden on Kimberly Drive. It’s
within the count circle.

Back in the 80’s I participated in a bird feed and feeder study conducted for
USFW out of Patuxent Wildlife Research Center. One of the results was that the
“favorite” food of goldfinches was hulled sunflower kernels. That’s not to say
