If cdrecord was free, I would have better spent my time trying to help
you or working on something I know better instead having to maintain a
free version of the DVD support code.

I have improved the DVD patch to cdrecord. It should be able to format
and burn DVD+RW media (altough I have only one DVD+RW blank media to
test, and surely have done incomplete tests).

You can find binary packages either
with another drive, but it seems that the
pionner A04 works also with this version (to be confirmed)
You can find the package on any mandrake mirrors, or the patch in the
corresponding source pacakges in the SRPMS directory on mirrors.

Maybe is just after a full blank that they become unreadable in
other drives. The truth is that now I have 2 DVD-RW
a README.cdrecord in the repository that makes that clear.

cdrecord works with IDE CD RW. It would be great if some body can help me
suggest the public domain software or commercial one. It would be great if
it is GUI tool. I wanted to write some files regularly in to CDRs.
IIRC on redhat the package is named cdrtools.
