I'm running 4.22.8-25-g633d, with the (not 100% sure, yahoo patch).
Never got around to actually upgrading to 4.22.9. I have the source

You don't need to restart whole centerim, reconnecting to jabber
should help. I've had suspicion about jabber presence handling for a
while, but just recently was able to somehow almost reproduce it (or at
least I think I did).
This is not Jabber-specific for me. I have the same problem
