I've installed CentOS in a QEMU VM for some gcc-compiling work. I've used Gentoo for years, but am a newbie at CentOS. During install, I selected "development" options, which pulled in more than I really need. I don't want or need a heavy desktop environment chewing up part of the 4 gigs

I have Centos 6.8 running on a VPS and upgraded PHP from 5.3 to 5.4 using scl. Unfortunately it seems mcrypt is not available, neither for 5.4 nor for 5.5. What have other users done about that? Unfortunately I have an application that requires mcrypt.
