It was resolved by re-installing the KVM host with CentOS 6.0,
unfortunately there is not official CentOS 5.6 - CentOS 6.0 upgrade
path.

Hi All,
I'm playing with KVM in order to adopt the technology for dev /
testing purposes. Installing RHEL5 from ISO images works ok, no
problems with installation.
The problem occurs with PXE boot - it is simply doesn't try to do PXE
boot, according to what I can see:
Booting from Hard Disk...
That's how I create VM:
virt-install --hvm --name=vm_3 --ram=1024 --os-type=linux
--os-variant=rhel5 --accelerate --file=/kvm/disk_images/image_3.img
--network=bridge:br0 --pxe --vnc
# brctl show
bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces
br0 8000.18a90566c9a4
