I've been tearing my hair out with this one:
I have a complex application with lots of CFCs that we want to
web-service.
The CFCs are in a directory outside the webroot, with a mapping set up
to it : call it /mycomponents/
I have a directory /ws/ under the webroot with it's own

Do you have a CF Mapping setup pointing to mycomponents/ ?
Then you can access the component in the ws by calling something like
var oFoo = CreateObject(Component, mycompents.mycfc);

I can create an instance of the CFC in the web service method, no
problem. If I do:

Not likely, I'm not aware of any way to use an Access database in a UNIX
environment, since that would require a UNIX implementation of the JET

I don't have one handy, but you should be able to split the .value
using \ or / as delimiters (depending on OS - I'd test to see
which exists first) , and take the last value in the resultant array.

Have you tried moving the CFCs into the web root? I know you said you
have a /ws directory with interface CFCs, but I *think* the other CFCs
need to be in the web root as well. There have been numerous web
services posts to this and the CFCDev list in the past, and I believe

I beleive thats only to do with CFCs that return CFC components... I
dont have the code to hand at the moment but im sure one of my sites
proxy's, but it just returns a structure to flash rather than an
instance of a CFC

Yes, it works if I set the returntype as struct rather than a specific
CFC type.
The trouble then is that the struct comes out in the WSDL as a Map
type, and I've had all sorts of trouble getting the Map type parsed
correctly from a client written in anything other than CF - which kind
of goes
I took the offender off the list. For those changing email addresses,
please have the courtesy of removing yourself from mailing lists
before sending out auto-respond messages.

I have several sites running on IIS 5.0 / Win2k, with CFMX 6.1.
One of the sites, all of a sudden shows:
09:54:43.043 - coldfusion.runtime.TemplateNotFoundException - in : line -1
File not found: /members/index.cfm
When I try to access it. If I go to a html page that I know exixts it loads

Our CFMX server is crashing about once daily. It just dies, there is
nothing in the event viewer, nothing in any of the logs. What should I look
