Hey All,
I can't get debugging to fly in CFMX. The second updater is installed, and
I've tried every possible IP. Debugging is turned on in classic mode, but
nothing shows when CFM pages are run.

Depends how much it has to handle. If you want it easy to setup for low to
medium traffic, I'd say go with ArGoSoft Mail Server (free). You'll be up

try and install it to run off the standalone server? AFAIK it can only
co-exist with previous CF versions if it runs through the standalone server.

hooked. There are certainly some IDE issues etc. to be worked out (as with
anything new), but the possibilities are amazing.

Take a look at DateAdd() I'm pretty sure you could add -1 day to Now(). If
not you could use DatePart() and Now() to yank the current
day/month/yearthen subtract 1 day from the day and use CreateDate() to
put it all back together!!

All I can say is I never use CFUPDATE or CFINSERT and all I ever here about
them is what you described. Kowing how to use CFQUERY and write your own
SQL statements is a beneficial skill and I always recommend that people use
it instead ;-)

Nothing.just easier to code with CFUPDATE/CFINSERT. CFQUERY using
CFQUERYPARAM will help to stop SQL injection attacks, use BIND variables to
increase performance (not all DBs use BIND vars), and won't bail on you all
the time like CFUPDATE/CFINSERT.

and it made FK relationships impossible in some situations...didn't like
that ;-)
If your universal tabel was huge the lookup for an individual select box
would take longer as well (more records = slower query)

function to has it.
You could also check it's length using Len() and then output that many
asterixs.

I'm not sure what you're meaning by an ODBC connection so I'll just make
some suggestions ;-)
1) Use Datasources (ODBC) in control panel to add the datasource
2) There is a workaround for DSNless connections in MX but it's different
than previous CF versions. Sam Neff posted this for me a while
you need a dynamic connect

I'm not 100% sure, but on the user group manager list I think it was
mentioned that DevCon may be on the east coast (not a central loaction that
would make sensebut that's a whole different rant). ;-)

Yes on the UG Manager list someone asked today if a location had been nailed
down yet. Well no answer yet and MM just cancelled a new event (due to the
illegal war) they had been playing up bigtime the past 2 weeksso who
knows what'll happen to DevCon :-|
