I'm coming in here without reading the thread, but don't forget that
CFQUERYPARAM is not just for SQL injection attacks etc. but also handles
bind variables. Bind variables in conjunction with Oracle will greatly
increase speed.

Yes the standard Page cannot be displayed. It will happen for all
apps/sites running off the server once it dies. The connectioin is still
good and I can navigate to other sites with no problem (I code on the
development server).

is the default setting.

the SYSTEM group didn't even exist), and the
EVERYONE group had limited access. So I cranked up the access to the
EVRYONE group and the CF MX install went just fine.

pulled all records that aren't flagged? That would seem to me to give you

BTW Cameron...I was logged in as an admin remotely..no luck...had a guy in
front of the server logged in locally as the admin...no luck. It was all

Well SQL attacks can be pretty severe (drop tables...delete all records etc.). That
said..CFQUERYPARAM is your friend...and very easy to use.

Another thing to watch for is using cflocation inside a cftransaction. Yes I did see
a junior
developer we used once try this. It re-locates and thus never finishes the
transaction...w

I'm not sure I entirely follow you, but couldn't you ORDER BY lvl DESC to
get the MAX lvl as the first record?

If you're using CF 5 just run a query or a query to SELECT MAX(lvl) FROM
YourQuery

cfset LevelList = ValueList(YourQuery.Lvl)
Then do some list manipulation to get the MAX item in the list

Yes ValueList() would work in bothand Dan's approach was more elegant
than mine (shoulda taken more than 10 seconds..hehe) ;-)
