(good) native interfaces to both com, java and coldfusion.
I guess your shop made the decision to use COM/ASP for ArcIMS (the
decision to use coldfusion/COM for ArcIMS would be incredible bad -- I
hope you didn't go

Using the ghostscript you should be able to dump each page to a graphical
file format (of your choice).
To get the text - you can use the xpdf kit (which includes a pdftotext)
util.
But I don't think you can get to HTML easily though... :(

and opens up the URL, and prints it to a postscript printer (for further

As I understand it: pre-MX Verity is not a spider, and only indexes FILES
in the local file system. No CF parsing. It would probably be better to
have all major content in a database and use something like MSSQL's
full-text indeces -- I have good experience with that.

Just launch a wget (or curl) for a specific URL/template, and have the
things you want to be run in parallell in that template. If you don't
specify a timeout in the cfexecute, then the base template won't wait for
that one to finish.

I have scripted Word (through cfobject), to print to a postscript file,
that is then converted to pdf.
This solution allows me to use inputs ranging from doc, rtf, html and
output doc, rtf, html, ps and pdf.
I am not using Acrobat at all for that conversion -- ghostscript handles
the pspdf conversion, so it is all legal.
