I want to invite you all, or anyone you know who might be interested, to
submit a paper to the second Workshop on Computing within Limits (LIMITS
'16). The workshop considers the role of and types of computing in society
when faced with, among other things, major ecological and energy
challenges. These two papers may help provide context:

Here's a bit more info, and the workshop URL where there's a longer
description and a link to last year's papers:

http://acmlimits.org/2016/

LIMITS aims to foster research on the impact of present or future
ecological, material, energetic, and/or societal limits on computing and
computing research to respond to such limits. The medium-term aim of the
workshop is to foster concrete research, potentially of an
interdisciplinary nature, that innovates on technologies, techniques, and
contexts for computing within fundamental limits. A longer-term goal is to
build a community around relevant topics and research. A goal of this
community is to impact society through the design and development of
computing systems in the abundant present for use in a future of limits
and/or scarcity.

Paper submission deadline: February 29, 2016
