IBM SOCIAL COMPUTING GROUP SEEKS INTERN FOR DEVELOPING WORLD RESEARCH

The Social Computing Group at IBM Research in New York is seeking
smart, energetic students for internships in summer 2011. Our group
has been building and studying new forms of social software for over
10 years. Past intern projects have focused on topics such as: social
visualization, task proxies, social networking, virtual worlds, and
more. Many have resulted in publications in top conferences, patents,
and new features in IBM products.

Our current focus is designing, building, and evaluating mobile social
applications for the developing world, so students with interest and
experience in related areas are particularly encouraged to apply.
Applicants should be enrolled in a PhD program and have experience in
computer science and/or human-computer interaction. Focus areas
include mobile telephony, crowdsourcing, social media, social
networks, microfinance, low literacy UIs, and mobile multimedia.

Interested students should forward a CV and cover letter to jasone at us.ibm.com
