Two research grant opportunities that DIL is offering this spring. Both competitions are open to University of Washington faculty, lecturers, and students. -- 1. Call for Applications: DIL Innovate Award (Applications due February 8) [https://ssl.gstatic.com/ui/v1/icons/mail/images/cleardot.gif] The DIL Innovate<http://dil.berkeley.edu/technology-portfolio/competitions-incentives/dil-innovate-application-spring-2016/> award provides up to $55,000 in funding for faculty-led research focused on technological innovations for international development. The innovation may be a new technology-driven product or service that responds to a specific development challenge or a measurement tool which improves the capture of development outcomes. Applications will be accepted through Sunday, February 8, 2016. 2. Call for Applications: DIL Explore Award (Applications due February 22) The DIL Explore<http://dil.berkeley.edu/technology-portfolio/competitions-incentives/dil-explore-travel-grant-application-spring-2016/> award provides graduate students and junior researchers with up to $5,000 for early-stage, exploratory research and/or international travel to developing countries that supports development engineering projects addressing international development challenges.
