[Chat] internet questions
I am thinking about switching to Comcast high speed internet. I would prefer to avoid running the cable from room to room. Does anyone know if I purchase a wireless router if it must be attached directly to my computer? I was hoping to keep the router in one room and the computer in another. Is this feasible? Thanks. Re: [Chat] internet questions
All you have to do, is buy a wireless router, from Wal-mart, connect it to the comcast modem, and then set up the wireless network... I can buy the router for you, connect it, and set up your wireless network for $50. call me if interested, Michael Callan 443-703-8336. Re: [Chat] wireless router, from Wal-mart
Yes, the idea of the wireless system is that the computer doesn't have to be plugged into anything. Also, you can generally find good prices on electronics even at companies that aren't the industry leader at abusing their workers and driving down wages for the entire U.S. economy... If you want to support local business, give Little Shop of Hardware a call. They're right up road in Hampden. http://www.littleshopofhardware.com/contact.htm /dale On Sep 11, 2007, at 3:02 PM, Michael P Callan wrote: Very interesting, Where can I buy a wireless router, where the retailer doesn't abuse there employees I am not very informed about this.. Re: [Chat] wireless router, from Wal-mart
If you want to avoid big-box stores, I suggest hitting up Litte Shop of Hardware on the corner of 33rd Keswick in Hampden. They should have a router in stock, and can also give you some advice on how to get your network set up. But all of the major electronics chains will carry routers: Best Buy, CompUSA, Circuit City (although CC has pretty bad labor practices too). Cheers! Kate (new list member!)
