[Chat] thank you ! Mice

2011-02-23 Thread regina ARMENTA
Thank everyone who responded about the mice.  I went to OK natural and bought
the pepermint oil.  They suggested that I mop my kitchen and surfaces with it.
10 drops per bucket weekly.  They also said to put it on cotton balls and put
them in places where you think they might be living in.

Hope it works!!

I bought a little thing that is plugged into an outlet in our kitchen which
emits a sound that we can't hear but supposedly repels mice. I haven't seen a
mouse since we started using it.  You can get this gadget at hardware stores.
Ours is made by Sunbeam. Good luck! Dawna Cobb

I second the suggestion about pet food. I used to keep cat food just in bags
 on
the back porch -- they didn't seem to eat through the bags much but we always
had a few mice. I bought a big plastic bin for the bags at Target and haven't
seen any mice since. (You'd think that just having a cat would have kept them
away, but apparently not.)

I'm going to try the pepermint in the back yard too.  The bottles are $6.99
$20.00 and $60.00  at Okay natureal in Mt. Vernon.

Regina--

I had a horrible rat problem in the back yard several years ago.  When the city
began its recycling program, I got serious and bought trashcans with lids for
garbage and recycling containers.  That cut way back.

I'm sure you already cover trash, but those who don't should seriously consider
putting lids on trashcans.

Mice?  I'd like some ideas too.

 Hello Everyone,
I was just notified that my third floor tenant has a mouse problem, maybe a
rat?  We don't have these problems in the rest of the house, yet.
An occasional

mouse but not a huge deal.  I was wondering what people are doing around the
area for mice and rats.  Our back yard definitely has a rat problem but
last year I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned more, all summer and spent a lot of
time out side with my dog and that seemed to help.  However they were still
there just not as bad.  ANY IDEAS!!??
