Re: [Chat] Apartment for rent and rooms for rent
Wow! We are actually looking for an apartment while the house is being fixed. I'm sure you already know but Spud and Steph's house caught on fire and our house caught next. All of my apartments are not liveable and we all are looking for housing during this process. What is the cost including utilities? We have a small dog that is under 20 lbs and has his own FB page. Hope we can come look at it :) Regina Armenta Director of Yoga on Wheels Anusara Inspired Yoga Teacher 614-205-7663 www.yogaisart.org On Saturday, May 10, 2014 10:15 PM, Lauren Redmond lauren1redm...@gmail.com wrote: Hi, neighbors. Support President Young's efforts to televise Liquor Board, BMZA and Board of Estimates Hearings so residents can see how decisions impacting their communities are being made. Please attend the hearing on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 5pm in the City Council Chambers at City Hall. Attend to support televising these important hearings. Consider testifying as to why you think televising the Liquor Board, Board of Estimates and BMZA hearings would make government more transparent. Background: You and many of your neighbors know that these boards make determinations about what is best suited for your community every week. The public deserves to know how, why and who is making these decisions! While all of these proceedings are in fact open to the public, they occur during the day when most residents are working, and therefore unable to attend. Alternative Participation: If you cannot attend but still want to support the effort, send an email to both michelle.wirzber...@baltimorecity.gov mailto:james.kr...@baltimorecity.gov james.kr...@baltimorecity.gov. Describe your experience during Liquor Board, Board of Estimates and BMZA hearings and state how you think televising the proceedings would make the process fairer. Hi, everyone- particularly those in the 2700 block areas of Calvert, Guilford, and St. Paul. We just returned from a brief trip to the shore and came home to find our cat, Rosie, (about 3 years old) missing. She has a chip ID implant, so I am hoping someone will pick her up and have her checked. But, if you see her, she is a dark tabby cat with splashes of white on her face, a stubby tail, and a white tummy that sways when she walks. Most concerning to me is that when we adopted her, she had previously been declawed, so she has been an indoor cat! If you have seen her, please let us know. We are very worried. First the Target- been there twice now and the customer service couldn't be better. Stopped in at two different times- once it was quiet, had just opened for the day; the other time, today, it was bustling, but STILL great service and a well-cared for store. Felt very safe (obvious police presence both times), parking was fantastic, particularly compared to the dreadful parking at the Towson Target, and was there in about 10 minutes from home! What an asset to the City! Went with the family to Parkside Restaurant tonight for the first time and sat in the children's section, where we had a DELICIOUS meal, for a very reasonable price, and watched the kids have a blast in the play area fully stocked with toys, a fun raised platform area, perfect for meal time performances from creative kids, and it was cordoned off so we didn't need worry about escapees while we dined! The manager stopped by the table and welcomed usLOVELY time! Just wanted to share some holiday joy experienced, delightfully, without a trek to a surrounding county! Happy Holidays, everyone, and here's hoping these City gems and those like them remain and prosper in the New Year! Just call the number on your statement for billing inquiries. Last summer, I got a water bill for $900 when the meter reader inverted two numbers. Also, you can check for a slow leak in your commodes by putting cold coffee or a cola in your toilet tanks. If there's a slow leak, the water in the bowl will turn brown. In all likelihood, the folks in the utilities department will suggest this, so it's good to be able to tell them you've already checked this possibility (As if a slow leak would increase your total water usage by a factor of ten...!). Hope this helps! Kathleen On Sep 30, 2007, at 4:19 PM, Christine Gray wrote: Has anyone elseâs water bill jumped like mine has? My last two bills have been about $90 for 10 cubic feet of water. [Chat] Yoga for parents that have children
Hello Everyone, I have been teaching the yoga classes at St John's Church every Monday and Thursday at 7am and at 9am. I have had many students that would like to coordinate a child watching session or trade with other parents so they could come to yoga. One option is to have one parent watch the children while the others take class. Another option is that one parent goes to the 7am and one watches and then they switch. If anyone is interested in being a baby sitter for an hour and a half please call me and let me know so I can coordinate this so everyone can enjoy the relaxation of a yoga class to start the day off right. Thank you! Regina Linda Forlifer [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Dear Mr. Donnelly, I appreciate your prompt reply. My family, friends, and colleagues at work have been regular customers, and my grandchildren tell me that Rocky Run is their favorite restaurant. Thank you, Linda Forlifer 08/23/07 11:31 AM We have been in Charles Village for 9 years now and have enjoyed being part of the community. Lately over the past 4 or so years our sales at Rocky Run have slipped though and faced with continuous rising operating costs on our end, it has been a difficult time for us. After a lot of research, we have decided to try and do something with a fresh, clean new look and that was perhaps a better fit in the neighborhood in terms of a menu and price point. We are still a family friendly restaurant and will continue to pride ourselves on that. We have kept all of the foods on our menu that have done well for us over the years in terms of sales and guest satisfaction (ie. burgers, nachos, cheesesteaks, wings, salads, crab dip crab pretzel, etc. etc.. Some of the other items that were dropped were done so because either they had become cost prohibitive (ie. steak, ribs) or they just did not sell enough (ie. pasta, seafood) to warrant being on the menu. We have also dropped our prices on both food and beverages with the hope of being more attractive from that point of view. I hope that you will give the new concept a try and am confident that you will enjoy it. They have record of one letter being sent in Jan 2005 and no I did not receive this. I actually get tickets quiet often for not looking at signs or just running out of time at a meter. I have the Baltimore city on my bill payment so I can make sure I just pay them right away. I thought this may be a good resource to show how many parking tickets I have paid on time. I ordered my bank statements for 2004 and when I get them I will know if I actually paid it or not. If I have some something to bring to court, that can back me up, I will look into it. If I can't find anything then I really feel like it would be a waist of time. I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happen to. As for the web site I will research this and get back to you. I do know some detail. The man who was assaulted was an older man that was walking at night. This was the third time this has happen to him. He seems to be a perfect target my neighbors told me. He is older and comfortable in the neighborhood and even after all of this interaction, he still walks at night. Regina John Spurrier [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:P { margin:0px; padding:0px } body { FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY:Tahoma } The police response is indeed distressing. I am curious about the facts behind the assault that was in progress when the good samaritans intervened. Does anyone know if that was random? a robbery in progress? or possibly a drug deal gone bad or an incident that started in a nearby bar or restaurant? Many residents of Baltimore are comfortable knowing that because they're not involved in drug activity or a bad domestic relationship their chances of becoming the victim of a violent crime are greatly reduced. When you are a victim of crime statistics mean nothing. I was robbed at gunpoint in 1998 right in front of my house. Coincidentally there was an off-duty police officer parked in the garage less than 50 feet from my home at the time. When I ran to his vehicle after the incident he was reluctant to get involved. A young girl (early 20s) was riding her bike on the side walk across the street from the Schnapp Shop when a group of young boys (9-12 year olds) punched her in the face. This was last Friday. Then today we ran into Rory and JW (they live on the corner of 28th and Calvert St) - they informed us yesterday at 10:50PM right next to Matt and Jules (the house with the large elevated back deck right behind you) house on St. Paul their neighbor was assaulted by a group of young men aged 16-18 no reason. He was working on his front yard when they approached him. Please be careful - it appears that the gang initiation has started for both the young and older groups of boys in the neighborhood. Also time of day does not appear to be only during the night or evening for these assaults - several people have reported being harassed early in the morning on the way to their parked cars to go to work. Also it is not only females with this most lastest attack on St. Paul. The nice man at the Schnapp Shop that the police had informed him to tell everyone to be aware of their surrounds and not to walk alone (male or female) or with headphones on. Oh, what a lovely hot summer - I can't wait for a good cold winter. Sorry for the downer news but just want to keep you informed and aware - better to be safe than sorry. I agree! I love living here and the greatest part about it, is that we can walk around. I saw these kids that day walking on both side of the street on 27th Calvert. I would say about 15 or 20 of them. They were loud enough for me to stop and look out the window. I guess when this beating happen there were people at the bus stop and did nothing. Two friends of ours came out with their dog and tried to scare them away. I feel scared, but I don't want to stay in the house. Maybe a block party/meeting so we could get to know each other. I just moved in the area in Nov. I know my neighbors next door and behind and a few here and there. I would love to be more connected. Better advice would be for all of us to come outside our houses, sit on our porches, walk in the neighborhood, be a presence, get to know our neighbors, and watch out for one another. The message was to contact the police whenever a large group of youth is wandering through the neighborhood, the implication beingor perhaps statedthat such groups are usually not up to any good. Does anyone else remember such a message here? Are citizens all supposed to stay cowering inside their homes or offices and to desert our sidewalks and yards, leaving them only to thugs? How does an empty community make life better for anyone? Better advice would be for all of us to come outside our houses, sit on our porches, walk in the neighborhood, be a presence, get to know our neighbors, and watch out for one another. Re: [Chat] NEW: Yoga Classes at St. John's
Good Morning Judy The Church has many other functions and had day time available were nothing was happening. I know it seems early, but I think it will a wonderful way to start the day! The 7:00am class was made to be available for those people who work and would like to go to class and the 9:AM is so you can sleep in a little. I guess I'm a bit of an early bird myself. The birds are so nice in the morning, such a beautiful time to be awake. Hope I see you there. Re: [Chat] NEW: Yoga Classes at St. John's
As of now no. The slots that the Church would allow for classes is during the Morning hours. I know it seems early, but believe me it will start your day off right. I also teach an 11:30PM on Sunday at Mina`s in Hamden, on the Ave. Let me know if you want more information about that class. jberlin [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: r there any later times? judy On Jun 29, 2007, at 12:03 PM, Christine Gray wrote: YOGA CLASSES Classes July 16-Sept 17th St. Johns Church 2640 ST.
