On a different list I was involved in a thread about the length of SBC intake
manifold bolts. According to David Vizard they're 1.25 long but a friend of
mine learned the hard way that some aftermarket intakes aren't as thick around
the bolt holes, and that can lead to pushrod interference:
when I swapped intakes (stock cast iron to aftermarket holley
contenderaluminum ) I bought an intake bolt set for aftermarket aluminum
intakes, first thing I noticed was the length difference. just my 2 cents

Actually without the heads and everything else I removed, it was pretty
light, considering. All there was to lift was the smallblock, crank,
pistons, and the minor internals. I'm poor here, gimme a break, and the

I can relate to that a little bit. I built my 406 short-block in my
basement over the winter a couple years ago and getting it out to the garage
took some ass-busting. I believe I still have both testicles, though!
There were three of us to get it outside.

it goes a long way, just be sure not to pour out

The car is not nearby, but the pictures I took of the engine show that #5
and #7 are close to each other in the wire loom, then cross near the cap.
How far apart should they be? Would the spacing of a typical wire loom be
enough, or should there be at least a wire in between?
For those of you that have knowledge in narrowing Chevelles, i have an important question that needs an answer within 3-4 days.
I have located a narrowed rear end for my pro street project that measures 34 inches (flange to flange).
Do you think this rear end width is about right for a 71

blasted frames. It took a little over a quart for each frame. I top coated
with Chassis Black (1.5 quarts also) Frames have been painted for 3 years
and look like the day I painted them. Really tough stuff.

Hey There,
Question, How do you spray that stuff. How do you mix the thinner or reducer in. I thought you could only brush it on? Can you spray it from a regular gun?
Thanks

Maybe it is the first Mrs. Purett?
I used
a brush on mine. Came out even and shiny, no brush strokes. No over
spraymess but a few drops on the floor. I wore gloves Stuff gets on
your skin and it has to wear off in a matter of days unless you get it off while
it's still wet. Hand cleaner or thinner while wet is the only
way.
Seems awful narrow to me ? 60.50 1964-1967 Chevelle
62.5 1968-1972 Chevellethats about 13 inches per side? Is it set up to bolt under a chevelle? better do some homework on this one.

finished yet but 1 quart should do it.
