The Dixco Hood Tach was used on the 1970 Yenko Deuce Nova LT1 but was also used by
many others. Dixco marketed the tach though Ford and MoPar dealers and
also had their own sales network. The tachs had different faces and different
logos. For example the Yenko tach had a black face with

One area you may want to reinforce on the Chevelle frame is where
front sway bar bolts on. My friend has heavy bars on his and drives a lot of
winding roads. He ripped out the sway bar bolts a few times then had to make
plates for the frame and use larger bolts.

GM Grills sold for the 1969 Chevelle. One is the Malibu grill with a center
bar that is about ½ inch out from the grill and has a flat with holes to
mount a center bar trim piece. This grill is also used on the SS except

is made to be used without the bolt on center bar trim piece. You can bolt
an SS 396 or bowtie emblem to it. The Malibu grill center bar sticks out

The stock Chevy HEI works pretty well on a street
engine. Just use good wires and lighter springs to match your engine/trans/gear
combo. The crane adjustable vac canister and spring kit is a good low cost
modification to help fine tune it. MSD stuff is good for racing but not really

The 69 Malibu grill and the SS grill are the same except the SS is blacked
out. The 300 used a different grill which also came in silver and SS

The vacuum advance canister works sort of like the computer in a modern car.
It constantly changes ignition timing to match engine load. No vacuum while
cranking gives no vacuum advance. High vacuum under light load gives full
vacuum advance.

I read the Corvair story awhile ago and it was very interesting reading. The
early ones had a few problems like engine would fall out and scrape the
ground and exhaust gas would enter car when heater was in use but this was
all fixed right away. There were handling problems on the 1st generation

thing I notice is that my Q-jet car is hard to start if it sits for a week
without running. If it sits one day it starts fine. I put in a fuel filter with
