We are in the process of evaluating the ASR9K as a next gen platform
I would like to ask you, what was most surprising about the platform,
e.g. I expected that to be there, or this is a strange limitation.

In a 7600, I have a trunk port and one of the vlans allowed on the
trunk is a SVI (routed L3 interface)
Now I would like to filter clients on this vlan based on mac addresses
(allow certain range of addresses and block all other)
There is already a ip access-list on the L3 interface,

But the problem is that this setup eats up tcam space in the 6500 we
use, and doesn't scale then adding the third or forth VRF, then the
vrfs contain 10k routes.
Can this be done in a scaleale way (tcam) but still be able to
optimize traffic flow and support different default GWs

a) Removes the need to run PIM in the core.

Monitoring traffic by QoS class
Hi list
I have a requirement to monitor utilized bandwidth per qos class on a
interface, and to make this fun, the interface is a 10Gbps having
2gbps of bandwidth behind it.
The current policy looks like this:
So the traffic is shaped with WRED to 2gbps
100G can be expected in 2011 (or early 2012) for ASR9K and Nexus 7000.
AFAIK you cannot expect 40G for 7600.
Are there any (public) reasons given for not offering 40G for 7600?

My assumption is the following:
- sup720/rsp720 series backplane connectivity capacity is 40Gbps
- there is no known plan from Cisco to have bigger capacity supervisor for
76xx.
- Probably not economical to develop 1 port 40GE card
- If you need router like capabilities Cisco pushes you to
/100 is coming to the ASR9000 or if 40G is
coming to the 7600?

If I have a SIP-600 in a 7600 and SPA 1 port 10GbE. Lets say I have 5
gig of traffic on the 10 gig card, can I also have a 5 port GeE and
thus oversubscribe the SIP-600?
