Hello Alex, I think a lot of us here are running quite successful CloudStack installations. We wouldn't be developing on it if we did think the product does what it said on the tin. ;-) However installation is always tricky and depends a lot on the setup of the systems around CloudStack like the hypervisors and the storage.
I'm running several setups with XenServer hypervisors and Nexenta storage (even some NetApp at the moment) and perfectly happy with it. If you can share some more details about what problems you are encountering we could try and help you to get your own setup running so you can see it for yourself.
