You'll need to figure out where the claws configuration files were kept
on your old system. I think the default is $HOME/.claws-mail/. If you
copy this folder to your new system you should be good. Your mail itself
may be in a different place, but the configuration files probably say where.
If
have a look at rsync- it can run over ssh. you could also use tar over ssh.

i use the following rsync options to make sure i have all the bases covered:
sudo rsync -aEHXAv --progress
I was running Claws-mail in Debian Wheezy and and now have installed it in
Hydrogen derived from Debian Jessie.
Is there a way to transfer the configuration files from Wheezy? I want to keep
the same folders and same configuration that I have set up to redirect mail
into various folders. and
