You are right, after a bit of killing :
- it sounds good with qtopia media player, and mediaserver eats 45% of
CPU in top
- it sounds good too with mplayer (frontend here

A good one is :
- Hold down the aux key.
- Put battery in.
- Put usb in.
- Hold down the power key.
- Release aux key.
- Wait for menu.
possibilities while loosing some speed seems rather
acceptable...
